Call For Papers

Culture and Identity in Times of Change – Sharing Our Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences


Graduate Students of University of Macau warmly invite all graduate students in the humanities and social sciences to contribute to the Pearl River Delta Graduate Conference on ‘Culture and Identity in Times of Change’. As one objective of the conference is to provide a platform for communication and exchange among young scholars in the region, presentations are invited from a wide range of disciplines, including communications, cultural studies, history, international relations, linguistics, literature, psychology, sociology, translation, etc.

We are particularly interested in organizing panels on the following interdisciplinary themes:
1. New trends in the study of the humanities and social sciences
2. Research in the digital humanities and new media
3. Literature, language and cultural identity
4. The relationship between heritage and cultural innovation
5. The position of the Greater Pearl River Delta (GPRD) between the east and the west
6. Economics and culture in GPRD

Conference language
English/Chinese

Presentation format
Papers are allocated to 20-minute slots plus ten minutes of discussion.

Early December 2011: Notification of acceptance of abstracts
1st - 30th January 2012: Early bird registration
1st - 22nd February 2012: Ordinary registration
