CALL FOR PAPERS:

IWOMP 2019 - 15th International Workshop on OpenMP

"OpenMP: Conquering the Full Hardware Spectrum"

September 11-13, 2019
University of Auckland
Auckland, New Zealand
http://parallel.auckland.ac.nz/iwomp2019/

== Background

For the last 20 years, OpenMP has provided a portable and performant mechanism to program applications for shared memory environments. In that time, OpenMP has evolved significantly: the appearance of new programming paradigms such as tasking or vectorization, or the proliferation of accelerators have influenced this popular programming model. The OpenMP 5.0 specification is a major step forward for the OpenMP language, with the introduction of significant improvements and many new features that will be useful for highly parallel and complex applications. OpenMP now covers the entire hardware spectrum from embedded and accelerator devices to multicore systems with shared-memory. With these evolutionary advances, OpenMP is ready for the next generation of applications and the forthcoming cutting-edge architectures.

The International Workshop on OpenMP (IWOMP) is an annual workshop dedicated to the promotion and advancement of all aspects of parallel programming with OpenMP. It is the premier forum to present and to discuss issues, trends, recent research ideas, and results related to parallel programming with OpenMP. We solicit quality submissions of unpublished technical papers that detail innovative, original research and development related to OpenMP.

== Topics

All topics related to OpenMP are of interest, including OpenMP performance analysis and modeling, OpenMP performance and correctness tools, proposed OpenMP extensions, and OpenMP applications in any domain (e.g., scientific and numerical computation, video games, computer graphics, multimedia, information retrieval, optimization, text processing, data mining, finance, signal and image processing and machine learning).

Advances in technologies, such as multi-core processors and OpenMP devices (accelerators such as GPGPUs, DSPs or FPGAs), Multiprocessor Systems on a Chip (MPSoCs), and recent developments in OpenMP itself (e.g., devices) present new opportunities and challenges for software and hardware developers. Recent advances in the C, C++ and Fortran base languages also offer interesting opportunities and challenges to the OpenMP programming model. IWOMP 2019 particularly solicits submissions in these areas as well as ones that discuss how to apply OpenMP to additional models of parallelism such as event loops or real-time processing.

== Paper Submission and Registration

Submitted papers for review should be limited to 12 pages and follow LNCS guidelines. Submission deadline is April 24, 2019. Submit your paper to: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iwomp2019. Authors of accepted papers will be asked to prepare a final paper of up to 15 pages. As in previous years, IWOMP 2019 will publish formal proceedings of the accepted papers in Springer Verlag's LNCS series.

== Important Dates

Paper Submission Deadline: May 8, 2019 (AOE)
Notification of acceptance: May 24, 2019
Deadline for final version: May 31, 2019
