Call For Papers

14th International Conference on Evaluation & Assessment in Software Engineering (EASE 2010)

Call for Papers
Dates: Monday April 12th and Tuesday 13th April 2010
Venue: Keele University, U.K.
URL: http://www.scm.keele.ac.uk/ease/
Keynote Speakers:
Prof. Marian Petre, Open University, UK
Prof Natalia Juristo, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain

For the last thirteen years the International Conference on Evaluation & Assessment in Software Engineering has provided a forum where empirical researchers can present their latest research, and where issues related to all forms for discussion and exchange of experiences among researchers who present their research results and discuss issues related to empirical software engineering. The EASE tradition is one of providing a workshop-like atmosphere, in which papers can be presented with time for constructive discussion of their results and processes. The 14th EASE conference in 2010 will provide an opportunity to present research results and a forum to discuss, consolidate and extend the existing research. We solicit contributions on the above themes, or general matters of interest to the empirical software engineering community.
The 14th event will be hosted at the School of Computing and Mathematics, Keele University, UK. The event will include two keynote speeches by internationally leading researchers.
Topics can include any relevant aspect of empirical studies of software engineering, including:

* experiments (laboratory and field)
* replications of empirical studies
* case studies
* surveys
* observational studies
* field studies
* action research
* methodological issues and practices
* systematic reviews, mapping studies and meta-analysis

Papers for the conference should be no longer than 10 pages long, and should be presented in BCS eWiC format and as pdf. We particularly encourage authors to provide structured abstracts (please see the following URL for details of the preferred headings to use for structured abstracts: http://www.scm.keele.ac.uk/ease/abstrac.html).
Formatting guidelines can be found at: http://www.bcs.org/upload/pdf/paperprep.pdf

Short Papers

We will accept short papers (four pages maximum) on relevant topics, particularly industrial reports and position papers, to promote discussion about topics related to empirical software engineering in industry. We also encourage PhD students to submit short papers as it will provide them with an opportunity to present and to discuss their research with senior researchers in a constructive and workshop like atmosphere.

Important Dates

Full Paper Final submission date: Monday 4 January 2010;
Short Paper submission date: Monday 25 January 2010.
Further details about dates and submission arrangements will be provided on the EASE web site.
