Dear colleague,

You are cordially invited to submit a chapter proposal to be considered for publication in the forthcoming number (#6) of the Formatex Microscopy book series titled "Microscopy: advances in scientific research and education", to be published in Autumn 2014. The deadline for abstract submission will be 13 March 2014 (the submission of an abstract of the chapter proposal is required) The deadline for chapter submission will be 12 May 2014. The Formatex Microscopy book series is composed of full papers written by active researchers in microscopy and/or microscopy applications, using original research materials, but presented in a way accessible to a broader, not specialized, scientific public. It is the aim of this approach to take full pedagogical advantage of many research materials that researchers manage around the world but which are outside the scope of more specialized scholarly publications. Mini-reviews are also welcome for this edition. Mini-reviews can be thematic in nature, or focused on the activity of a specific research group.

This edition will be structured into four sections: Applications in Biology and Medicine, Applications in Physical/Chemical Sciences, Method-Advances in Techniques and Instrumentation and Educational Materials on Microscopy. Chapters of the five previous editions are freely available on the book website. Citations received by this Microscopy book series in international journals, books and other academic publications are also available at http://www.microscopy6book.org/citations.html

Important Dates:
Abstract submission deadline: 13 March 2014;
Chapter submission deadline: 12 May 2014;
Notification of chapter acceptance/rejection: 3 weeks after submission;
Submission of documentation (copyright transfer, publication charges): within 3 weeks after acceptance;
Release date: Autumn 2014
