Scope
Designing Information Systems (IS) for interactive spaces pose complex challenges that usually are not found when designing IS for traditional usage. Details of these environments foster novel approaches in information systems design and raise new challenges at different levels, namely: adaptability, mobility, personalization, collaboration, share and interaction. The Workshop on Information Systems for Interactive Spaces aims to become a forum for both researchers and practitioners from diverse backgrounds together to present case studies, problems, solutions and to discuss the state-of-the-art in this field in order to try to identify a vision for future developments in IS for interactive spaces. Topics of interest The topics of interest for the workshop include, but are not limited to the following areas: - Collaborative and social systems - Mobile and ubiquitous systems - Mobile computing - Embedded applications / embedded computing - Models and interaction techniques - Context Aware Computing - Ambient Intelligence - Adaptability and personalization - Experiences and case studies - Simulation environments - Sensor networks - Virtual and augmented reality - Multi-user interfaces - Information privacy and security - Entertainment systems for interactive spaces Paper Submission and Formatting Guidelines We invite prospective authors to submit contributions, not yet published, reporting on either work under development or concluded projects about theoretical aspects or practical applications of the workshop topics. Paper must follow the formatting guidelines of the conference and should be written either in English, Portuguese or Spanish. Contributions can be submitted in one of the three formats of the Conference, namely as full paper (6 pages), as short paper (4 pages), or as poster (2 pages). All papers will be subjected to a “blind review” by at least two members of the Program Committee. Therefore, authors should take special care to delete their names and affiliation from the paper during the reviewing phase, as well as obfuscate any other references in the text that can possibly identify them. All contributions must be submitted in PDF format, through the EasyChair platform (https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wisis2013). Publication Regardless of the type of submission, the Workshop’s Programme Committee may suggest papers to be accepted as full-paper (6 pages), short-paper (4 pages) or poster paper (2 pages). Full papers will be published in both book and CD formats, with an ISBN. Short papers, poster papers and company papers will be published in CD only, with an ISBN. Published full papers will be sent to EBSCO, EI, IEEE XPlore, INSPEC, ISI and SCOPUS. Published short papers will be sent to EBSCO, EI, IEEE XPlore, INSPEC e SCOPUS. Poster papers and company papers will be sent to EBSCO and EI-Compendex. |
