CALL FOR PAPERS:
Pacific Asia Journal of the Association for Information Systems (PAJAIS)
Special Issue on “RFID Applications and Potentials”

)))Important Dates:

Paper Submission: November 1, 2009
Authors Notification: January 30, 2010
Final Submission: March 1, 2010

)))Special Issue Scope:

In the era when timely information, accurate forecasting of supplies and demands, real-time inventory management, control of warehouses and retail stores are vital, the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology finds its way into literally every sector of economy, business and industry such as transportation and cargo, storage and retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and many other sectors and domains. There are many sectors and domains where RFID already have been showing unprecedented potentials such as transport and traffic (toll-ways), supply chain management, where tracking, monitoring, security, coordination, and planning play important roles. Similarly, RFID have been used to improve healthcare services, construction sites management, and so on.
Economic dimension (costs saving) is the main component in pushing for innovative technologies. The current research manifests that the use of RFID can significantly transform the current way of conducting business, improve efficiency of operation and management, and support decision making process. However, adoption of RFID in different industries is far from ubiquitous. In fact, there are only some dispersed examples that one can be found in the literature. Before RFID sees any wide diffusion, it requires extensive study of already applied RFID projects, the study of best practices, innovative applications, potential uses, and barriers.
This special issue is soliciting research papers, literature survey, and case studies on RFID Applications and Potentials; in particular, it is aimed at the following topics, but not limited.

)))Suggested Topics

- RFID Application Example in Various Domains
- RFID Application Example in Various Economy Sectors
- RFID Potential in Various Domains
- RFID Adoption and Diffusion
- RFID Potential in Various Economy Sectors
- RFID Impacts on Business Performance
- RFID Impacts on Business Processes
- RFID Application to Enhance Operations Management
- RFID and Change Management Issues
- RFID Implementation Best Practices
- Innovative Applications of RFID
