Abstracts (at least one but no more than two full pages), prepared using the abstract template, should be submitted by 30th November 2013 as a Word or PDF file attachment using our online form.
Abstracts must clearly describe the content of the presentation and its basis (detailed case study, discussion of experience from practice, preliminary research data, completed research not presented previously, review of literature, administrative initiatives and regulations, etc) and may be submitted for oral or poster presentation. A Leading Author should be appointed who will be considered as corresponding and presenting author by the Organizers. Please note that the Organising Secretariat will confirm receipt of all abstracts. Authors not receiving an e-mail notifying receipt of their abstract should check with the Secretariat to ensure their abstract has been effectively received. The official languages of the Symposium are English or Italian. Abstracts may freely be submitted in English and Italian (or both) for inclusion in English and Italian sessions, respectively. Abstracts will be selected following evaluation by an International panel of referees. Acceptance of abstracts will be notified to the Leading Author by 30th December 2013. If notification has not been received by the above date, Authors should contact the Organizers. Accepted abstracts will qualify the Leading Author alone for payment of a discounted Author's registration fee, which must be paid strictly at the time of abstract acceptance. Full papers should be addressed to the Organizers and received no later than 1st March 2014. Final papers should be prepared in accordance with the Instructions for Authors provided and their quality and contents should conform with the abstract originally submitted. Authors presenting their work in an oral session will also be requested to submit their PowerPoint presentations no later than 30th April 2014. All papers accepted to the SUM2014 will be published on a dedicated volume of Symposium proceedings. Additionally a number of leading papers will be selected by the Symposium Executive Programme Committee for the peer-review process for publication on special thematic issue of Waste Management, the scientific journal with the highest IF (2.485) in the field, published by Elsevier. For any further information or assistance regarding the submission of abstracts, please contact the Organising Secretariat papers@urbanmining.it |
