Call for Papers of the Special Session
Metaheuristics for Combinatorial Optimization and Modelling Complex Systems (MC2) to be held within the 2013 HAIS (HYBRID ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SYSTEMS) International Conference MC2 Website: http://www.di.uniovi.es/~delacal/mc2_2013 HAIS Website: http://hais13.usal.es ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hybrid Artificial Intelligent Systems (HAIS) have been used in recent years to obtain better models by means of the combination and association of several different techniques from artificial intelligence subfields such as neuro-fuzzy systems, genetic fuzzy systems, fuzzy expert systems, swarm intelligence techniques, evolutionary models, multi-agent systems, ant systems, etc. Usually, real world problems are highly complex as they involve imprecision, uncertainty and vagueness in their data and measurements. Because of their inherent complexity and uncertainty they usually can not be modeled with only one technique, and multiple methods are needed. This session is concerned with the new metaheuristics in HAIS, particularly those applied to combinatorial optimization and modeling complex systems. The list that follows details the main topics: - Applications of metaheuristics to combinatorial optimization problems (COP) - Metaheuristics for the analysis and design of complex systems (CS) - Modelling complex systems using hybrid methods - Emergent nature inspired metaheuristics - Novel application domains for metaheuristics - Fuzzy logic and HAIS in CS - Metaheuristics applied to real world applications - Theoretical issues of uncertainty in HAIS - Theoretical issues of combinatorial optimization in HAIS - Genetic Fuzzy Systems and Evolutionary Systems challenges for the next generation of HAIS Every submitted paper to MC2 will be reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee. Accepted contributions are to be published in the HAIS Proceedings. NOTICE: At least one author of each accepted paper must register in order for the paper to be included in the HAIS 2011 Proceedings.
