Dear colleagues,
The following Special Issue will be published in Sensors (http://www.mdpi.com/journal/sensors/, ISSN 1424-8220), and is now open to receive submissions of full research papers and comprehensive review articles for peer-review and possible publication: Special Issue: New Trends towards Automatic Vehicle Control and Perception Systems Website: http://www.mdpi.com/si/sensors/vehicle_control/ Guest Editors: Dr. Vicente Milanés and Prof. Dr. Luis Miguel Bergasa Deadline for manuscript submissions: 30 August 2012 This Special Issue aims to disseminate recent advances on in-car sensors in order to develop advanced vehicle control systems towards a more sustainability transport. Novel theoretical approaches or practical applications of in-car sensors toward the design, development and implementation of intelligent vehicles in real and complex environments are welcomed. Topics of this Special Issue include, but are not limited to * sensors integration for positioning system * real-time motion planning * autonomous navigation systems * intelligent maneuvering in complex environments * obstacle avoidance * traffic road detection * off-road guidance * parking aid systems * environment perception * road safety applications * unmanned vehicles * collision prediction and mitigation * driver assistance systems * safety systems * simultaneous localization and mapping * 3D reconstruction * cooperative perception * new sensing devices * human-robot interaction You may send your manuscript now or up until the deadline Submitted papers should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. We also encourage authors to send us their tentative title and short abstract by e-mail for approval to the Editorial Office at sensors@mdpi.com. This Special Issue will be fully open access. Open access (unlimited and free access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations as indicated by several studies. Open access is supported by the authors and their institutes. More information is available at http://www.mdpi.com/about/openaccess/. Article Processing Charges (APC) are of 1600 CHF per accepted article. For details see: http://www.mdpi.com/about/apc/. Please visit the Instructions for Authors before submitting a manuscript: http://www.mdpi.com/journal/sensors/instructions/. Manuscripts should be submitted through the online manuscript submission and editorial system at http://www.mdpi.com/user/manuscripts/upload/. Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220) is the leading international, peer-reviewed open access journal on the science and technology of sensors and biosensors, and is published by MDPI online monthly. Papers published in Sensors will receive high publicity since the journal is freely available online. Sensors is covered by leading indexing services, including the Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), Chemical Abstracts, INSPEC, Scopus and CAB Abstracts, PubMed/MEDLINE. The most recent Impact Factor for the year 2010 is 1.771. MDPI publishes several peer-reviewed, open access journals listed at http://www.mdpi.com/. The Editorial Board members, including several Nobel Laureates (http://www.mdpi.com/about/nobelists/), are all leading active scholars. All MDPI journals maintain rapid, yet rigorous, peer- review, manuscript handling and editorial processes. MDPI journals have increased their impact factors, see "2010 Newly Released Impact Factors", http://www.mdpi.com/about/announcements/121/. In case of questions, please contact the Editorial Office at: sensors@mdpi.com We are looking forward to hearing from you.
