The Third IEEE Conference on Sustainable Utilization and Development in EngiNeering and Technology (IEEE STUDENT 2012) will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 6-9, 2012. It is coorganized by IEEE SMC Malaysia Chapter, IEEE PELS/IAS/IES Joint Malaysia Chapter and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, UTAR IEEE Student Branch in cooperation with the Centre for Vehicular Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Science, UTAR.

IEEE STUDENT 2012 provides researchers and students from all around the world a channel to present their research projects and be recognized for their professional and technical achievements by the industry and IEEE. In other words, IEEE STUDENT 2012 provides an international forum that brings together those actively involved in areas of interest to report on up-to-the-minute innovations and developments, to summarize the state-of-the-art, and to exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of sustainability and technology.

Papers related to this conference theme are especially solicited, including theories, methodologies, and emerging applications such as recognition of activities of daily living. Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished work in the following areas, but not limited to:

Each paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts in the field for originality, significance, clarity and soundness. Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that at least one of the authors will attend the conference and present their paper. The conference proceedings will be included in the IEEE Xplore database and will normally be indexed in SCOPUS, EI Compendex and ISI Proceeding. Two best presented papers will be awarded The Best Paper Award with a prize of RM500 and a certificate each.
