Security engineering is a field of engineering dealing in developing detailed engineering designs for secure information systems (ISs) and for security of spaces. Security engineering involves aspects of software engineering, cryptography, and economics, as well as mathematics and architecture. Due to recent security attacks to ISs, which have security vulnerabilities, security engineering has quickly become an important field in order to develop more secure ISs.
The First International Workshop on Security Engineering for Secure Information Systems (SESIS 2012) aims to share ideas on the foundations, techniques, tools and applications of security engineering. This workshop will provide a forum for computer scientists, computer engineers, software engineers, and application developers who are required to design and develop information systems with high security. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - Security requirements analysis methods and models for ISs - Security design (modeling) methods and models for ISs - Secure coding methods and models for ISs - Security testing methods and models for ISs - Security management methods and models for ISs - Security engineering for system evaluation and assurance - Security engineering methodologies for ISs - Security risk assessment methods and models for ISs - Security architectures for ISs - Security policy for ISs - Case studies experience reports on security engineering - Security engineering support tools ==Important Dates== Paper submission due: April 10, 2012 Notification of acceptance: May 10, 2012 Camera-ready due: May 28, 2012 Workshop Dates: September 6-8, 2012 ==Paper Submission and Proceeding== There will be a combination of presentations including scientific papers. Prospective authors are invited, in the first instance, to submit papers for oral presentations in any of the areas of interest for this conference. Authors should submit a paper with 6-8 pages in length, including all figures, tables, and references. If you want to submit more than page limitation, you can add up to 2 extra pages with the appropriate fee payment. Papers must strictly adhere to page limits as follows. - Full Paper: 8 pages (Max 2 extra pages allowed at additional cost) - Regular Paper: 6 pages (Max 2 extra pages allowed at additional cost) Papers exceeding the page limits will be rejected without review. Please use the Springer Proceedings format for submission. Template is available here: http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0) All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings as one of Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering (LNEE) series published by Springer (indexed by EI) (Pending). Submission system: http://www.editorialsystem.net/sesis2012 Distinguished papers accepted and presented in SESIS 2012, after further revisions, will be published in the special issues of the following international journals: - The Journal of Supercomputing (JoS) - Springer (SCI) - Multimedia Tools and Applications (MTAP) - Springer (SCIE) - Personal and Ubiquitous Computing (PUC) - Springer (SCIE) - INFORMATION - International Information Institute (SCIE) - Advanced Science Letters - American Scientific Publishers (SCIE) - International Journal of Sensor Networks (IJSNet) - Inderscience (SCIE) - Human-Centric and Information Sciences (HCIS) - Springer - International Journal of Information Technology, Communications and Convergence (IJITCC) - Inderscience - Journal of Convergence (JoC) - FTRA Publishing ==Organization== - Workshop Chair: Young-Gab Kim, Korea University, Korea - Program Committee Baljeet Singh Malhotra, National University of Singapore, Singapore Chang-Joo Moon, Konkuk University, Korea Dae-Ha Park, Korea Digital University, Korea Dmitri Botvich, Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland Eun-Seok Ryu, InterDigital, USA Moon Jeong Kim, Youngdong University, Korea Geoff McNabb, Blue Granite, USA Hong-Seok Na, Korea Digital University, Korea Hyun-Sung Kim, Kyungil University, Korea Ifeanyi Egwutuoha, University of Sydney, Australia Inkwan Yu, Korea University, Korea Klaus Zaerens, Finnish National Defense University, Finland Kyungjun Kim, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea Patricio Galdames, Iowa State University, USA Sanghyun Cho, NHN Business Platform (NBP), Korea Seok Kee Lee, Hanyang University, Korea Seong-Jin Park, Hanshin University, Korea Sung-Bong Jang, LG Electronics Inc, Korea Young-Gab Kim, Korea University, Korea Young-Sil Kim, Daelim College, Korea ==Contact== If you have any questions about the CFP and paper submission, please email to Prof. Young-Gab Kim (always@korea.ac.kr). |
