Dear Colleague,
We would like to invite you to contribute a chapter for our upcoming volume entitled Advances in Face Detection and Facial Image Analysis to be published by Springer, the largest global scientific, technical, and medical ebook publisher. The volume will be available both in print and in ebook format by late 2015 on SpringerLink, one of the leading science portals that includes more than 8 million documents, an ebook collection with more than 160,000 titles, journal archives digitized back to the first issues in the 1840s, and more than 30,000 protocols and 290 reference works. Below is a short description of the volume: Face detection and recognition is an active research topic of computer vision and pattern recognition. A number of novel methods in this domain have emerged over the past decade. These methods have improved the accuracy of face and facial landmark detection, thereby increasing the number of human face analysis applications. New research directions include in particular psychology-based facial dynamics recognition, aimed at various applications such as behavior analysis, deception detection, and diagnosis of various psychological disorders. This volume is aimed at presenting the state-of-the-art in face detection and analysis. Topics of interest include: - Face and facial landmark detection - Face recognition - Facial expression and emotion analysis - Deception detection - Face liveness detection - Facial dynamics analysis (preferably using high-speed cameras) - Face classification, identification, and clustering - Gaze direction and head pose estimation - Applications of face analysis Each contributed chapter is expected to present a novel research study, a comparative study, or a survey of the literature. There will be no publication fees for accepted chapters. Important Dates Submission of abstracts February 16, 2015 (EXTENDED) Notification of initial editorial decisions February 20, 2015 Submission of full-length chapters April 1, 2015 Notification of final editorial decisions May 1, 2015 Submission of revised chapters June 1, 2015 All submissions should be done via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fda2015 Original artwork and a signed copyright release form will be required for all accepted chapters.
