Call for Papers

This year’s conference theme is ‘Evolving perspectives: Innovative approaches to language studies’. With this theme, we seek to explore new approaches to language study, such as innovative methodologies, collaborative projects, the development of new models, and research into previously neglected subject areas. The conference will promote internationalisation by bringing researchers from across the globe together and by providing vital networking opportunities.

Confirmed keynote speakers:

Professor Paul Simpson (Queen’s University Belfast);
Professor Lesley Jeffries (University of Huddersfield);
Professor Karen Corrigan (Newcastle University).
Possible topics of paper proposals include, but are not limited to:

Classroom discourse
Corpus linguistics
Critical discourse analysis
Genre analysis
Language change
Language policy
Language teaching/learning
Phonetics
Phonology
Pragmatics
Semantics
Sociolinguistics
Syntax
Stylistics
Please submit your proposal via EasyAbs available at http://tinyurl.com/ilinc2013 by Friday, September 20th, following the guidelines below:

Abstracts should be 300 words long (maximum) and clearly present a research question/objective, literature review, methodological approach, results and conclusions (without any subheadings).
Abstracts should be sent via the online facility in a DOC format, with a centralised title, in bold, and in capital letters. There is no need to include full references at the end of the abstract. Please avoid footnotes and any unusual symbols (such as phonetic transcription) that might be changed in electronic communication.

Abstract submission deadline: 20th September
Notification of reviewers’ decision: 30th September
Presenters’ registration deadline: 15th October
