This PhD workshop is offered in conjunction to the main conference "ICT for Sustainability" (http://www.ict4s.org). Your work in progress should be related to the main conference's topics which are the following: Sustainability through ICT; Sustainability in ICT; Economic and Political Dimensions. This PhD workshop is meant to support you as a PhD student on different levels of your scientific journey. We do not only offer you an opportunity to present your ongoing research project. We also offer you a platform to let you deal with constructive criticism and provide space for you to debate specific dilemmas and challenges with the audience. Optionally, in addition to the presentation, you get the opportunity to submit a paper of your work in progress. If you do so you will receive feedback on the submitted paper based on a review of the expert committee and have it published in the ETH’s e-collection after the conference.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR PUBLICATION

EXTENDED DEADLINE UNTIL OCTOBER 15, 2012
Submit your information to the EasyChair system (https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=ict4sphdworkshop) including the title of your presentation together with an abstract of 300 – 500 words pointing out the specific content of your paper. Additionally submit one question (a specific dilemma or challenge) concerning your research project you would like to have discussed with the audience.


October 22, 2012
The evaluation of all submissions will take place until October 14, 2012. You will be notified on October 14, 2012 if and what has been accepted to be presented and published.


Until November 21, 2012
If your presentation has been accepted you will have to register by November 14, 2012, in order to participate at the PhD workshop. Additionally, if your paper has been accepted the full paper about your work in progress has to be submitted to the EasyChair system by November 14, 2012. Make sure that your paper adheres to the format indicated on the website. Submit your paper as PDF. Your paper should not exceed 8 pages in this format. Do not use page numbers. Use 9pt font.


January 14, 2013
You will receive a review for your full paper.


Until February 28, 2013
Submit your revised paper as a new version of the existing paper as PDF to the EasyChair system by February 28, 2013. Until then you get the opportunity to adapt your paper according to the review comment of the expert (received on January 14, 2013) and the constructive criticism of your fellows which you got during your presentation.
