Generally Georgian dishes favor spices, meat and vegetables (fish dishes are rare), as well as walnuts, garlic, and creams. The most famous national dish is khachapuri (bread filled with cheese); shashlik, salads, and mushroom dishes are also inevitable at mealtime.
