SPSim - Portuguese Society for Simulation Applied to Health Sciences in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, will organize on 19-21 February 2015, its third Congress, which has the highest scientific patronage of SSH (Society for Simulation in Healthcare), SESAM (Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine) and Abrassim (Brazilian Association of Simulation in Health).

This event will take place at the Medical Research Centre, Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto (CIM-FMUP | Porto) and aims to promote the exchange of national and international research and experience on simulation based biomedical education.

We intend to promote contact with a wide and varied audience, belonging to several scientific fields (medicine, nursing, psychology, engineering…), dissemination of new concepts and
technologies applied to the simulation, and the sharing of knowledge between experts and beginners by participating in pre-congress courses, lectures, workshops and a memorable social program.

The objectives for this Congress focus on the following paths:
1 - Disseminate biomedical simulation as a training resource that contributes to patient safety, humanization and excellence in healthcare.
2 - Contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of national strategies of simulation applied to the health sciences.
3 - Promote exchange of national and international research and teaching experience in the biomedical area using simulation.
