Call for Papers
With an emphasis on the applications of computer, physical, engineering and mathematical models for solving modern challenging problems in life sciences, the fourth event CMLS-13 aims to bring biologists, medical/biomedical and health science researchers together with computational scientists to focus on problems at the frontier of computational life sciences. A goal of this meeting is that the interactions of scientists across several disciplines will lead to the identification of new scientific investigations, shape future directions for strategic research, and help industrial users apply advanced computational techniques for solving practical life science problems. As another important aspect, CMLS-13 aims to provide opportunities for postgraduate research students to present latest research results and establish links with experts across several scientific disciplines. CMLS-13 will consist of invited talks by leading international experts in computational life sciences, contributed papers, and tutorials. Themes of Interest Medical/biomedical and molecular image analysis and understanding Computational systems biology and medicine Computational psychology and physiology Computational neuroscience Bio-sensing Bio-signals e-Health Topics include, but not limited to, the following: Image analysis, computer vision, pattern analysis and classification, information visualization, signal processing, control theory, information theory, statistical analysis, information fusion, numerical analysis, fractals and chaos, biologically-inspired techniques, optimization, simulation and modeling, parallel computing, computational intelligence methods, machine learning, data mining, decision support systems, database integration and management. Publications The proceedings of the symposium will be published as a book in The American Institute of Physics (AIP) series. The online version will be published simultaneously with the printed book. Authors of selected top-quality papers presented at the symposium will be invited to extend their papers for submission to special issues of the following journals or book series: To be confirmed. |
