ACM Mobile Cloud'13
Mobile computing paradigm has transformed the way we compute and communicate in recent years. An increasingly large number of applications are now being ported to the mobile platforms. Processing power of mobile computers and smart phones are steadily improving as we see Dual core and Quad-core processors in handheld devices. However, the requirements from users largely surpass the storage as well as processing capability. This gap between the resource demand and supply in the mobile computing environment can only be filled by embracing cloud computing in a much larger scale than we use today. Mobile Cloud Computing is, therefore, emerging as the next step in the evolution of ubiquitous computing and personal communications. The proposed workshop Mobile Cloud 2013 will attract a larger community interest because many mobile applications that demand huge storage and processing power cannot be realized by any other mechanism. This workshop will address challenges in distributed computing in mobile cloud. This fosters interdisciplinary collaborative research in the area of next generation of computing infrastructure with high impact on resource management, distributed computing, service management, reliability, energy and cost efficient in-network processing and security where few or all devices are controlled by third parties and resources are distributed over a dynamic network. We encourage the submission of high quality papers and work-in-progress in related topics including but not limited to: Mobile Cloud Virtualization Privacy and Security issues in Mobile cloud Energy efficient storage mechanisms in Mobile Cloud Embedded system software issues in Mobile Cloud Service profiles and models in Mobile Cloud Resource management solutions in Mobile Cloud Efficient database management systems in Mobile Cloud Big data analysis in cloud computing environment in Mobile Cloud Network access mechanisms for Mobile Cloud Efficient data cache management schemes in Mobile Cloud Performance evaluation techniques in Mobile Cloud Software Engineering issues in Mobile Cloud Software Subscription models in Mobile Cloud Cloud computing architectures for Mobile Cloud Novel applications for Mobile Cloud Infrastructure development for Mobile Cloud Service models for Mobile Cloud Processor design for Mobile Cloud Energy harvesting for Mobile Cloud applications Ad hoc/Mesh communications over Mobile Cloud This workshop encourages the submission of broader theoretical and practical research contributions with contribution to traffic, military, coalition, and disaster scenarios. We are seeking original and previously unpublished research papers addressing theoretical and application issues in deploying and managing distributed computing in a dynamic heterogeneous environment. Important Dates * Paper submission: March 22, 2013 * Decision notification: April 12, 2013 * Camera Ready: May 10, 2013 * MobiHoc: July 29-August 1st 2013, Bangalore, India |
