The Ivory Server: Academia and the Digital, a workshop
The Technology Division of the Cultural Studies Association (CSA) invites abstracts for papers and panel proposals for the 11th Annual Cultural Studies Association Meeting, May 23–26, 2013 at Columbia College, Chicago. Digital technologies have increased exponentially pedagogical tools, academic resources, and potential for collaborations for students and scholars; the widening field of digital scholarship seems to present as many challenges as it does opportunities. This workshop aims to bring together scholars and practitioners share ideas, strategies, histories, and theories that may shape higher education in the years to come. Participants will distribute their work three weeks in advance of the conference, to focus on discussion and synthesis at the workshop. Potential topics may include: Archival studies Politics and economics of accessibility Digital pedagogy Collaboration and interdisciplinarity Authorship and plagiarism Online courses Multiplatform education Personalized education For-profit/non-profit institutions The future of the educator Submit paper abstracts (maximum 250 words), A/V equipment requests (if needed) and a brief CV by February 1, 2013 to: sluber@calpoly.edu Steve Luber Theatre and Dance, Media Studies Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo |
