Call for Papers

Decentralized coordination is a challenge. Several theoretical results have shown that in general one cannot guarantee self-stabilization of certain systems where every peer has equal priority, when these peers try to find non-conflicting configurations. Decentralization is nevertheless important as it corresponds to a general aspiration of the society. This workshop gathers researchers interested in technologies for efficient or practical systems with maximized decentralization.

Peer Reviewing
The peer-reviewing at the workshop will be organized according to the Open Peer-Review (SelectiveY) schema:

Each submission is assigned to at least 2 reviewers (by a bidding procedure).
Reviews are written as short articles, using the styles of the workshop. Reviews can be written by people outside the PC committee. The PC commitee member responsible for each review assigns a score 0-100 to each review to specify the relevance of the paper to the workshop given that review (score are relative to other articles and may not have an absolute meaning). Reviews from reviewers performing blind review (where the reviewer does dot see the name of the authors) will be marked accordingly.
Answers to reviews are also written as short articles, using the styles of the workshop.
Papers are sorted in the order of the average of the scores of its reviews. Only the first some (10) are granted oral presentation.
Subsequent (up to 20) papers can be presented with posters.
Authors can submit an additional (not reviewed) revised camera version with minor corrections (a "diff" should reveal changes in at most 100 lines and 3000 words).
All reviews, answers and initial submissions are included in the CD proceedings, except if the author withdraws the submission (which withdraws associated reviews).
Reviews can also be withdrawn after receiving the answer to the review, and before the deadline for camera ready versions.

Submissions
Articles should be submitted as PDF files, using AAAI styles and should be up to 8 pages long, except for the cover page. Each article should have a cover page in AAAI style containing the title, name of the authors and the abstract. From the second page on the paper should be in the typical AAAI style, containing again the title and the abstract but not the author names. The body of the paper should be written for blind review (where the name of the authors can be hidden from the reviewer). The reviewers will have the option of performing a blind review, where the name of the authors is not revealed to them before the moment when reviewers are handed the answer to their review, even as the reviewer names will have to be on their reviews (some reviewers may feel more comfortable to review a paper if the paper is anonymous). Papers have to be submitted by email to msilaghi@fit.edu, at latest by midnight on February 10, EST, and not earlier than February 8. As soon as a paper is submitted, the blinded part of the paper titles be made available to the committee members.

Proceedings
Authors maintain their copyright but sign us the permission to include their papers and reviews into the workshop proceedings. Proceedings will be distributed on CD (and an ISBN will be obtained for it). We will also look into the relevance of getting printed proceedings (if participants request it, as it may increase the registration fee by some $100).
