Call for Papers / Invitation to Special Session 16
Real Time Simulations on Electrical Systems Special Session Organizers Filip Andren, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Vienna, Austria, filip.andren@ait.ac.at Georg Lauss, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Vienna, Austria, georg.lauss@ait.ac.at Felix Lehfuss, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Vienna, Austria, felix.lehfuss@ait.ac.at Thomas Strasser, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Vienna, Austria, thomas.strasser@ait.ac.at Sponsored by: IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Technical Committee on Smart Grids The integration of distributed energy resources, new generation approaches and other novel technologies such as smart grid demand for powerful simulation methods to investigate both component behavior and system level interactions. Prior to installation, the operation of new concepts and technologies should be simulated in order to ensure safe operation and reduce the cost of field testing. To accomplish that, advanced modeling and simulation technologies as well as testing procedures are required for individual components as well as for whole energy systems. Real-time simulation technology offers such platform where state-of-the-art digital hardware and software is used to produce faithful responses of the systems using electro-magnetic transient modeling techniques. In particular, this session will be focusing on (but not limited to) the following topics: • Theory and application of real-time simulation of electrical systems • Real-time modeling and simulation of distributed energy resources (DER) • Real-time system simulation of (all) electric vehicles and (all) electric aircrafts • Power/Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop experiments (PHIL/CHIL) • Hardware/Software-in-the-Loop real time simulations and experiments • Hardware interfaces for real-time applications • PHIL power interfacing algorithms for real-time applications (CPU/FPGA computation) SUBMISSION OF PAPERS Papers are to be submitted electronically (http://vps.ieee-ies.org/submit/isie14). For further details, please consult the conference web pages. AUTHOR'S SCHEDULE Deadline for submission of papers: January 12, 2014 (extension on request to SS organizers possible) Notification of papers acceptance: March 1, 2014 Final manuscripts due: April 7, 2014 |
