The EWB-UK & EAP Research & Learning Conference is a one day event designed to bring together the work and study of research students and academics into the public arena for discussion and debate in the area of ‘Sustainable Human Development in Engineering Education’. This year it will be held again at the University College London on the 12th of April 2013 thanks to their generosity in continuing to support EWB-UK and EAP. There will be time allocated to keynote speakers, panel debates, poster displays and general discussion. Delegates will be invited from not only the different stakeholders in academia but also the humanitarian and development sectors and civil authorities.
We therefore invite you to present your research in one of two options – the panel presentations or the poster display. - For the panel presentation we ask you to submit a full paper for the conference proceedings and give a short presentation on the day alongside your contemporaries which will be followed by a Q&A session. - For the poster display we ask that you prepare a poster for the day accompanied by your choice of either a full paper of your work or a short paper outlining what you have been up to. The following categories outline the Communities of Practice that EWB-UK upholds and the theme of the conference. However, all submissions must at least gesture towards how that research is relevant to the aims and theme of the conference – ‘Sustainable Human Development in Engineering Education’. Water and Sanitation Energy Habitat Industry ICT Transport Healthcare and Mobility Technologies Global Engineering Education (NEW!) Teaching Practices for Sustainable Human Development (NEW!) Innovation in Engineering Education (NEW!) Full papers for both the panel presentations and poster displays will be required at the very latest by Sunday 10th March 2013. For more information, suggested templates and submission processes please see: http://www.ewb-uk.org/filestore/Call%20for%20Papers%202013.pdf I look forward to hearing from you soon and wish you all the best in the meantime, Alex Buckman Research Co-ordinator Engineers Without Borders UK Email: research@ewb-uk.org |
