Call For Papers

The 2016 IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Innovative Business Practices for the Transformation of Societies (IEEE EmergiTech 2016) is the new flagship Conference of the IEEE Mauritius Subsection following the flamboyant achievement of 2013 IEEE AFRICON conference. The first edition of IEEE EmergiTech 2016 is organised jointly with the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) and aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum where industry, Government, and academia will meet to discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns regarding the evolution of technology and its impact on societies and businesses. The conference will include 10 symposia reflecting the latest technological developments and research interests. The program will also feature a rich set of workshops and tutorials as well as a featured exhibition space to provide our attendees with a distinctive conference experience. The conference therefore welcomes participants from the region and all over the world to the beautiful island of Mauritius for an exciting six-day event!

The event will feature keynote speeches from distinguished world-renowned speakers who will share the wealth of their knowledge on related topics of the technical program. The latter aims to explore policy issues, business innovation, and research advancements in the following theme areas:

Full Papers (6 pages)

Full papers are appropriate for research projects with conclusive results; mature, theoretically-grounded position papers; or papers reporting on a well-tested professional or teaching practice. Full paper submissions should present substantive original work: theoretical, empirical, and/or in the design, development and/or deployment of novel concepts, systems, and mechanisms.

Short Papers (4 pages)

Short papers are for work that makes significant contributions, but that are still in progress, of smaller scale, or that can be reported briefly.

Double Blinded Review
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All papers are subject to a double-blind peer review process by at least two reviewers from the IEEE EmergiTech 2016 International Technical Program Committee (TPC).Throughout the review process, both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. To facilitate this process, authors need to ensure that their papers are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity. To help with this preparation please ensure the following when submitting your papers:

Do not include any author names and affiliations under the title within the paper.
Do not include any acknowledgments.
Do not eliminate essential self-references or other references but limit self-references only to papers that are relevant for those reviewing the submitted paper.
Refer to your own published work in the third person. That is, use “In the previous work of Smith et al. [3]”, not “In our previous work [3]” .


NOTE: The TPC reserves the right to exclude a paper (including its removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference. The IEEE also defines a set of guidelines which deal with plagiarised material and double submission which are taken seriously by the TPC. Authors are encouraged to consult the following IEEE Policies.eveal your identity.
Papers not satisfying these guidelines may not be accepted for review.
