2nd International Workshop on Science, Application and Methods in Industry 4.0
Scientific and technological progress allowed for evolutionary and revolutionary progress in many fields - with manufacturing as a prime example. This process is often associated with the term “Industry 4.0”. In the SamI40 workshop we discuss the scientific methods and technological approaches which are the key enabler for this movement and includes application areas ranging from supply chain management to process optimisation. As such, the workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners in the field. These types of submissions are foreseen: i) novel scientific contributions, ii) application of methods and their performance, and ii) best practice and reports from the field. We invite you to experience the cultural and university atmosphere of the beautiful city of Graz. With six universities in one city and a rich history science development for centuries, Graz continues to inspire many scientists as it did before with Johannes Kepler, Ludwig Boltzmann and Erdwin Schrödinger. We are eager to learn from you. Overall topics to be addressed by this workshop include but are not limited to: Machine learning and artificial intelligence Secure data exchange and communication Decision making systems Smart manufacturing & smart sensors Swarm intelligence (Big) data analytics & data science Operations research Simulation & virtualisation Robust planning Anomaly detection Data-driven systems Expected Audience: Researchers and practitioners from the field related to manufacturing and related fields, for example data science. Submission Format We welcome submissions in the ACM format (templates are available here). The papers are expected to be at least 5 pages and up to 12 pages and need to contain a copyright statement like: "Copyright held by the author(s)." . Poster: In addition to long papers we encourage poster submission giving an overview of the open research topics and main challenges of knowledge transfer between academia and industry (A1 posters, portrait - design is up to you). You may submit an extended abstract of your poster or the finished poster itself. Submissions are conducted via: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iknow2017 Important Dates Deadline: June 19, 2017 Accept/Reject Notification: July 17, 2017 Camera ready version: August 21, 2017 i-KNOW 2017: October 11-12, 2017 Organising Committee Roman Kern, Know-Center Gerald Reiner, Alpen-Adria-Universität Olivia Bluder, KAI Location The workshop takes place within the i-KNOW 2017 conference, Graz, Austria |
