LSDVE'22: International Workshop on Large Scale Distributed Virtual Environments to be held in conjunction with ISCC2022
https://sites.google.com/view/lsdve-2022/home 30 June 2022, Rhodes Island, Greece Metaverse is a disruptive technology aiming to integrate the real with the virtual world. Several applications may benefit from this new technology, like entertainment, social media, business, and trading. Blockchain technology and decentralized solutions are a natural way to support Metaverse applications, since they can remove intermediaries and ensure trust. Furthermore, cryptocurrencies, NFT, and the token economy were shown to have sufficient technology maturity to integrate seamlessly with the Metaverse. This workshop aims to provide a venue for researchers to present and discuss important aspects of blockchain, metaverse, and their relationship. The definition of these applications requires many challenges, like the choice of the blockchain, the integration among various technologies, such as blockchain, Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), AI and IoT, and the definition of proper business models. The workshop aims to investigate open challenges for such applications, related to both the application's design and to the definition of proper support. ## TOPICS Authors are solicited to submit original, previously unpublished papers in the following, but not limited to, topic areas: * Cryptocurrencies and the Metaverse * NFT and tokenization * Blockchain-based incentive mechanisms * Interoperability between blockchain/Metaverse * AI/Blockchain integration for the Metaverse * AR/VR and IoT for the Metaverse * Cloud and edge solutions for the Metaverse * Distributed Data Storage for the Metaverse (e.g. IPFS) * Smart Contracts * Privacy, security, and trust * Social Network and Metaverse integration * Fraud detection * Blockchain-based Intellectual Property * Tools for the Metaverse (Decentraland, Sandbox,...) * Decentralized applications (DAPP) * Legal aspects ## PUBLICATION AND SPECIAL ISSUES Accepted workshop papers will be included in the IEEE ISCC 2022 proceedings and will appear in the IEEE Explore Library.
