GRAPHIC ERA HILL UNIVERSITY
GEHU is the culmination of the dream of one man who had the vision to reform destiny. An academician and computer engineer of repute, Prof. Kamal Ghanshala is the new face of imparting holistic education. His foresight and acumen has soared this institution as a pioneer in technical education in Uttarakhand. Prof. Kamal Ghanshala founded Graphic Era in the year 1993 as one of his daring venture in providing service to the society through a private educational system which became Graphic Era Institute of Technology (GEIT) in 1997 and Graphic Era University (deemed university) in 2008. His another initiative is Graphic Era Hill University (GEHU) which came into existence by an act of Uttarakhand State (Act No. 12) in 2011.

The University has rich and vibrant campuses at Dehradun and Bhimtal. These campuses are designed with world class academic and research facilities, state-of-art laboratories & libraries which foster innovative teaching and learning and personal care to students. The university also offers the exchange opportunities with foreign Universities. GEHU is currently offering career-focused programmes in Engineering, Management, Computer Application, Commerce, Mass Media & Hotel Management.

AIM OF THE WORKSHOP
The Internet has become an increasingly important feature of the learning environment. Over time, the users of the Internet and World Wide Web have benefited from the big improvements in their ability to learn and the way they pursue their academic interests. A majority of the Internet users also consistently report that it helps them to do their job better and improves the way they get information about anything using internet search engines and the websites like Wikipedia. The quest for knowledge in Internet has also led to the development of the free teaching, learning and research resources known as open educational resources that reside in the public domain and can be accessed by anyone and at anytime free of cost.

This workshop is aimed at building capacity in the area of Open Education Resources by imparting training to educators, teachers and trainers who share the vision for free educational resources. The objective of this workshop is to provide practical hands-on skills that are essential in creating such collaborative environment where content evolves through the efforts and contributions of a large community of practitioners, researchers, learners, experts and teachers of Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences & Engineering, whose shared goal is to make the information accessible to all.
