Compute 2010 Call for papers
Compute 2010, The annual conference of ACM Bangalore Chapter, will be held on 22nd and 23rd Jan, 2010. This will be the third in the series of Compute, the flagship conference of ACM Bangalore Chapter. It is now widely recognized that applied research has a key role to play in computer science is moving beyond the academia into the business domain, more specifically with practitioner perspective of technology absorption, and innovation. The aim of this conference is to bring together researchers, practitioners, technology market movers, and thought leaders, with a view to advance the state of the art, and the state of the practice in applied research, which is a catalyst in leveraging of Computer Science by IT companies. In context of today's proliferation and diversification of information sources, information formats, information access media, we decided to concentrate the conference to discuss diverse contemporary research and practitioner perspectives covering this theme. We invite both research and practitioner oriented submissions in the broad area of contemporary information management, covering topics (not restricted to ) as below: Search in both enterprise and internet context Information lifecycle management Data management Databases and Related Topics Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Data Mining Text mining Image mining / Processing Text summarization Structured-unstructured information integration Information Standards Information as a service Anywhere anytime access to Information (mobility, pervasive computing) Multi-channel and Pervasive Information access (including mobility) Artificial Intelligence and its role in Information Processing Information Accessibility/Usability (especially for Web) Cloud based Information storage/access/retrieval Semantic Web, Web 3.0, and Semantic Technologies Web 2.0, and Rich Internet Applications Analytics High Performance Information Management, including Data Grids, Low Latency Apps Important Dates Paper Submissions Due: October 1, 2009 Notification of Acceptance: November 20, 2009 Camera Ready Versions Due: December 10, 2009 Conference: January 22-23, 2010 CONFERENCE CHAIR: Prof. R. The authors can submit upto a maximum of 8 ACM conference pages (about 4000 words). A single volume of proceedings encompassing papers in all the tracks will be published.
