Session: Software Methodologies on Large-scale Information System Development
(SMLIS 2013) at The 18th International Conference on Transformative Science and Engineering, Business and Social Innovation SDPS 2013 October 29, 2013 Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil http://students.cis.uab.edu/zekzek/SMLIS2013_CFP.html Keynote Speaker: Mehmet Aksit, Department of Computer Science, University of Twente The session aims to bring academic, industrial researchers, scientist and practitioners together and provide a platform for exchange of ideas and the recent developments in software methodologies and tools related to large-scale information system (LSIS) design. The applicative studies, especially in the domains of Health, Education and Defence are especially welcomed. In addition to the scientific research on software aspects on LSIS, SMLIS 2013 will provide hands-on practical sessions as well as industrial demonstrations. The session will be of interest to people from both industrial sectors including software engineers, information engineers, consultants and trainees, marketing staff, and business managers and academic & industrial researchers in software engineering. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: ● Business process modelling ● Code generation approaches and implementations for LSIS ● Distributed data collection/integration/discovery methodologies and implementation ● Entity, Cluster, Data Flow and Data analysis methods ● Software architectures supporting interoperability of different Systems ● Software testing methods for large-scale systems ● System development processes and tools ● Software Methodological Issues in LSIS design (Model-driven development, Aspect-oriented development, Agent-based development, etc.) ● Management Information Systems ● Healthcare Systems ● Distance Learning Applications The session recognizes excellence by means of a Best Paper Award made to an outstanding submission presented at the session. All accepted papers presented in the session will be published in the conference proceedings. The best paper and the selected papers presented at the session will be considered for publication in Journal of Integrated Design and Process Science, special issue on Information Processing in Software Engineering: Theories, Methodologies, and Practices. http://www.iospress.nl/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Special-Issue-Proposal-Vol18No3.pdf Organizing Chairs: Zekai Demirezen University of Alabama at Birmingham , USA zekzek@uab.edu Geylani Kardas International Computer Institute, Ege University , Turkey geylani.kardas@ege.edu.tr Ilker Kocabas International Computer Institute, Ege University , Turkey ilker.kocabas@ege.edu.tr Program Committee Fevzi Belli, University of Paderborn , Germany Fazli Can, Bilkent University , Turkey Cagatay Catal, Istanbul Kultur University , Turkey Wei-Bang Chen, Virginia State University , USA Ali Hikmet Dogru, Middle East Technical University , Turkey Veselin Pizurica, Awingu , Belgium Andreas Prinz, University of Agder , Norway Bedir Tekinerdogan, Bilkent University , Turkey + others TBA Important Dates Initial submission: August 25, 2013 Author Notification: September 9, 2013 Final version ready: September 15, 2013 Submission Information Conference papers for the session should be submitted through the EasyChair .
