The AIMS International Conference on Autonomous Infrastructure,
Management, and Security is a single-track event targeted at junior
researchers and Ph.D. students in network and service management and
security. It features a range of sessions including conference paper
presentations, hands-on lab courses, educational keynotes, as well as
tutorials on transversal aspects of a research activity (e.g., publi-
cation strategies, paper reviewing, and research presentation design).
The objective of AIMS is to offer junior researchers and Ph.D.
students a dedicated place, where they can discuss their research
work and experience, receive constructive feedback from senior
scientists, and benefit from a number of practical hands-on sessions
and tutorials on emerging technologies and Ph.D./research life-related
topics. By putting the focus on junior researchers and Ph.D. students,
AIMS acts as a complementary piece in the set of international
conferences in the network and service management community, providing
an optimal environment for in-depth discussions and networking.

AIMS 2017 will focus on the theme of security of networks and services
in an all-connected world. With the rapid development of advanced
communication and networking services, providing security, reliability
and resilience while guaranteeing the best performance in a wide range
of more complex, more dynamic and hyper-connected environments, has
become crucial. To address these challenges, new paradigms, smart and
fully distributed approaches, as well as scalable and flexible
management solutions have to be investigated. The design, monitoring,
configuration, and protection of the next generation of networked
systems in an efficient, secure, and smart manner are crucial to
commercially viable and successful networks and services.

Conference Paper Submission:

The paper submission is handled by the JEMS system, accessible from the
AIMS 2017 Web page and available at https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/.

Authors can submit two types of papers:

Full papers are expected to report substantial research results
relevant for the subjects listed in the conference topics. The first
author of the submitted paper must be a junior researcher or Ph.D.
student. Only original and full papers that have not been published or
submitted for publication elsewhere can be submitted. Each submission
must be written in English and are limited to 14 pages, including all
references and figures/tables, in LNCS paper format. Papers exceeding
14 pages, multiple submissions, and self-plagiarized papers will be
rejected without further review.

Ph.D. Research Proposals are short papers describing the current state
of the student's research. The paper needs to include a clear
description of the research problem and the chosen approach, argue why
the problem is hard and the approach novel, and it has to outline the
results achieved to date. Specific, low-level technical details are to
be avoided. Papers should have no more than two(in exceptional cases
three) authors: the student and one or two advisors. Each submission
must be written in English and has to be limited to 5 pages, including
all references and figures/tables, in the LNCS paper format.

Proceedings:

All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of AIMS 2017,
an IFIP sponsored event. The conference will be published in
Springer's Lecture Notes of Computer Science (LNCS) series.
