A ubiquitous computing environment is a world that obtains required information without restrictions to time and location by connecting a large number of intelligent computers to various wire and wireless communication networks. Terms like calm computing, invisible computing, and disappearing computing well describe in a user interface point of view for ubiquitous computing. If the previous studies endeavored to perform how physical spaces in the real world are to be precisely mapped in virtual electronic spaces in computers, new ubiquitous environments focus human-based intelligent computing as a tool that can be easily and conveniently used by human beings by combining such physical and cyber spaces. Life patterns have been changed by ubiquitous infrastructures due to the development of intelligent interaction technologies for ubiquitous computing and that lead to a new culture. The ubiquitous computing technologies support not only the conventional methods that provide services based on customers’ requests, but a new system that provides services as an active manner by investigating the intention and circumstance of users. This new system can be considered as an intelligent interaction and communication.
The aim of this issue is to bring together researchers and practitioners in area of Communication and Ubiquitous Computing to share their visions, propose solutions, address challenges and establish cooperative research agendas. This will give an opportunity to connect the discussions regarding the potential of intelligent interactions for ubiquitous computing taking place across many communities. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Applications for interaction processing Multiple access techniques: CDMA, FDMA, RMA, TDMA Networking and architectures Information indexing, searching, and visualization Intelligent information processing algorithms Sensors, wireless technology and embedded systems Converged and interactive applications and frameworks Technological aspects: particularly laboratory models and developments Policy issues and frequency regulations: technical aspects Future communication systems Hybrid networking system Multicasting and multimedia delivery Overlay networks, Wireless and mobile networks Architectures and protocols, Data and index structures Semantic routing and search Systems Analysis, Design and Development Important Dates Manuscript submission due: March 30, 2015 First decision notification: May 30, 2015 Final decision notification: July 12, 2015 Estimated publication date: Winter 2015 (tentative) |
