The rapid developments in next generation communication technologies play a crucial role in all our aspect of life. The new developments lead to more energy consumption. Now a day the world is aware of reducing CO2 emission in order to mitigate consequential environmental effects. The rapid development in mobile and wireless communication increases the CO2 emission. Due to today’s severe energy crisis, green computing in mobile communication becomes an attractive research topic. The green computing technology in communication concerned with development of new idea for optimum energy consumption.
Telecommunications applications can have a direct, tangible impact on lowering greenhouse gas emissions, power consumption, and achieve efficient recycling of equipment waste. Within the framework of “Green Mobile Communications”, a number of paradigm-shifting technical approaches can be expected, including but not limited to energy-efficient network architecture & protocols, energy-efficient wireless transmission techniques (e.g., reduced transmission power & reduced radiation), cross-layer optimization methods, and opportunistic spectrum sharing without causing harmful interference pollution (i.e. Green Spectrum). This special issue invites the original research papers on all aspects of enabling green technologies for mobile communication. It will focus on contributions covering the full range of technologies from devices to systems and networks. The main objective of this special issue is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers and academics to present their research results and development activities on green computing in mobile communication. A few excellent research papers from 2nd International Conference on Electronics and Communication systems (ICECS 2015) also considered for review after further extension. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: • Efficient techniques for the radio resource management and optimal transmission (EE-RRM-OT) layer • Green components for network energy savings • Green computing in wired and wireless access networks • Energy efficiency in home and enterprise networking • Green computing of data centres and intelligent cloud computing • Green communications and energy system architectures • Energy efficient mobile systems architecture • Energy evaluation and comparison of different network technologies Important Dates Full paper submission: 10 May, 2015 Notification to authors: 15 August, 2015 Final version submission: 15 September, 2015 |
