The 19th Western Canadian Conference on Computing Education, in-cooperation with the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE), is a forum for discussing the development of computing programs and curricula and for sharing innovative strategies and tools for teaching and learning in fields such as computer science, computer technology, information systems and information technology. The Conference strives to bring together university and college educators, as well as industry and government representatives who have an interest in computing education. WCCCE 2014 will take place on May 2nd, 2014, and is being hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of the School of Business, Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in Richmond, BC, Canada. WCCCE 2014 welcomes papers, proposals for panels, and student posters on the following (but not limited to) topics: - Computing Program Development, Implementation and Evaluation - Computing Curricula - New Computing Courses - New Computing Syllabi - Labs in Computing Education - Elements of Teaching in Computing Education - Pedagogy in Computing Education - Teaching methods and tools in Computing Education - Open Textbooks - Online Courses - Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) - Distant Education - Continuing Education - Mobile Technologies in Computing Education - Multimedia applications - Outreach activities to schools and local communities |
