The 18th International Conference on Industrial Engineering
Smart Systems in Industrial Engineering October 10-12, 2016, Seoul, Korea http://www.ijie2016.org Aim and Scope The Conference is established to disseminate significant research results, technical and methodological applications, case studies, and surveys concerned with Industrial Engineering. The Conference is intended to bring together, in one place, developments in Industrial Engineering of interest to both researchers and practitioners. The conference program includes paper presentations, poster sessions, along with prominent keynote speakers and industrial visits. Moreover, the participants of the conference will be provided an opportunity for an industrial visit to Samsung Electronics (semiconductor plant) which is the top company as a semiconductor manufacturer worldwide. Topics of Interest The conference will be held under the theme of “Smart Systems in Industrial Engineering” and would strive to maintain a balance between research and applications. Topics include, but not limited to the following: Applied Operations Research Information Systems System Simulation Manufacturing Systems Cyber-Physical Systems Energy Efficiency Management in Production Statistical Methods in Industrial Engineering 3D Printing Industrial Automation and Robotic Applications Technology Management Industrial Ergonomics and Safety Product and Process Design Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Engineering Other Topics of Interest in Industrial Engineering Systems Engineering and Management For more details, please visit: http://www.ijie2016.org Important dates Abstract Submission Due: April 30, 2016 extended to May 15, 2016 Notification of Acceptance of Abstracts: May 10, 2016 extended to May 31, 2016 Full Papers and Posters Due for Review: June 30, 2016 Notification of Review Decision: July 31, 2016 Camera-ready Final Manuscripts: August 15, 2016 Early Registration: August 15 - 30, 2016 All the abstracts, papers, and posters should be submitted via EasyChair submission site of IJIE 2016. Should an unexpected web access problem be encountered, please contact the Program Chair, Prof. Dongmin Shin at dmshin@hanyang.ac.kr. Both the "oral presentation" and "poster presentation" options are available. Please mention your choice at the time of submission. Paper Submission Contributions on the IJIE 2016 include regular and short papers, poster papers, and special session papers. All the papers should be original, unpublished papers. The regular and short papers will be submitted for the oral presentation in the conference, while the poster papers will be presented in the poster session without oral presentation. The length of regular papers should not exceed 8 pages. The length of short and poster papers is recommended to be 2-4 pages and it should not exceed 4 pages. The papers submitted to special sessions will be managed by the corresponding special session chairs, and the accepted special session papers will also be presented orally in the session of the conference. All the submitted papers MUST be prepared with the IJIE paper template, and the papers MUST be submitted electronically in PDF format via the EasyChair submission site. See the details of the guides for the paper submission at: http://www.ijie2016.org. Special Session Proposals You are invited to submit special session proposals to be held on October 10, 2016. The papers will be published in the proceedings of IJIE 2016. The special sessions facilitate discussion and experiences on specific topics among active researchers in line with the conference topics. Special session papers can include regular or short papers just like the main conference. The submission of the papers, and the review and acceptance decision of the submitted papers will be managed by the special session organizers. At least four papers are required to organize a single special session, and one regular paper presented in the session can be recommended for the publication of IJIE-TAP journal by the special session organizers. Special session proposals must be submitted as a PDF by May 15, 2016 to general special session chair, Prof. Daiki Min (dmin@ewha.ac.kr). The proposals MUST be prepared with the IJIE special session proposal template. The submitted proposals will be reviewed by the chair, and the decision on the proposal acceptance will be notified by May 31, 2016. Publication All submitted articles will be published in the conference proceedings in an electronic format, which will be available at the conference. The conference program with brief abstract for each article will be available before and at the conference. Revised and extended version of selected regular papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the SCIE indexed journal, International Journal of Industrial Engineering: Theory, Applications and Practice. Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards The Best Conference Paper awards are selected from the accepted papers to IJIE 2016. The award committees will select the best paper and winners will be presented with their award at the conference. Interested students are encouraged to submit and present their papers as the first authors. Three Best Student Paper awards are selected among the papers the first authors of which are full-time students who register and present the paper in oral sessions.
