CENTRAL THEME - Creativity and innovation, especially in relation to technology, business, education, social and political needs that make modern society flourish.

KEY APPROACH - Cross-disciplinary, for attendees to learn from each other and explore how the process of creativity and innovation can benefit from the cross-fertilization of practices from more than one discipline.

FORMATS - Conference papers, poster sessions, workshops, keynote speakers, networking sessions and demonstrations (by BAE Systems, leading technology innovators)

All accepted papers will be submitted for publication in Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world's largest scientific libraries. WORKSHOPS

Holodecks and Holonovels - This Creative Science Foundation event invites imaginative narratives portraying future technological and societal developments around the theme of the Startrek holodeck (a space in which simulations of people, objects and environments can be created and can be interacted with as if they were real). Gene Dolgoff, the originator of the holodeck concept - which was first depicted in the TV series 'Star Trek', and the pioneer of many holographic technologies, is a keynote speaker at the conference.

Smart Cities, Big Data Analytics and Digital Manufacturing - This workshop invites contributions exploring how emerging knowledge and manufacturing techniques could democratise the process of design innovation and production.

Interactive Workshop - This Workshop is designed to give delegates insight and hands-on knowledge of how user-interactive Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies are progressing through the latest research projects and activities in academia and industry. It is focusing on three main application areas, Wearable Technologies, WebVR and 3D Image Capture..

KEYNOTES

* Gene Dolgoff is a prolific inventor and entrepreneur, inventing the LCD projector, building the first holography laboratory, and inventing holographic transfer printing - used for security on credit cards, and being a key player in the development of HDTV and 3-D TV and projection systems. He has had a significant impact on science-fiction, creating the idea of the holodeck and directly influencing authors such as Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke.

* Richard Scase, a professor at 5 universities, is a leading figure in the area of entrepreneurship and corporate management as an academic, businessman and speaker. He was recently voted one of the Top Ten most influential people in Britain on personnel/human resource management issues and is a former winner of the prestigious European Business Speaker of the Year Award.

The event is endorsed by the European Alliance for Innovation, a leading community-based organisation devoted to the advancement of innovation in the field of ICT and the Creative Science Foundation, which promotes the integration of Arts and Science as an innovation tool (especially narrative fiction based methods).
