Call For Papers

The 9th IAPR International Conference on Biometrics (ICB-2016), technically co-sponsored by both IAPR (Technical Committee on Biometrics - TC4) and IEEE (Biometrics Council, approval pending), is the premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the field of biometrics.

The International Conference on Biometrics (ICB) was established in 2006 as a biennial conference by merging AVBPA (Audio- and Video-based Person Authentication), ICBA (International Conference on Biometric Authentication) and other biometric workshops, and since then, ICB has established itself as a premier international conference in biometrics. In 2011, ICB has changed into an annual conference providing researchers with an avenue for presenting biometrics research results of highest quality. The 4th and 7th editions was held in conjunction with the BTAS conference (Biometrics: Theory, Applications, Systems) in Washington, DC, USA (October 2011) and Clearwater, FL, USA (October 2014), and it was named the International Joint Conference on Biometrics (IJCB). The 8th edition of ICB is going to be held in Phuket, Thailand (May 2015).

For the 9th edition, in 2016, ICB will be held in the Swedish city of Halmstad. The conference is intended to have a broad scope, including fundamental advances in pattern recognition techniques relevant to biometrics, sensor design, new algorithms and/or technologies for biometrics, analysis of specific applications, security and privacy, and analysis of the social impacts of biometrics technologies. Areas of coverage include biometric systems based on fingerprint, iris, face, voice, hand, handwriting, gait and other modalities as well as biometric fusion and emerging biometrics based on novel sensing technologies.

Submissions must clearly articulate the novelty of the work and make the case for a documented improvement over the state of the art. Submitted papers must report results on publicly available databases when possible. We specially encourage to use the largest and most challenging available datasets.
