Call For Papers

Big data is changing the business world to its core. Irrespectively from the industry where they operate, companies are forced to rethink the extent to which data and analytical capabilities are needed. The prize at stake is high: strategic choices related to data management have led emerging start-ups to flourish and multinational, well-established companies to go bankrupt within months.

Corporations have to deal with unprecedented challenges that include:
Finding ways to manage new and unusual sources of Information.
Renovating entirely the data warehouse infrastructure so to cope with the demanding requirements due to the characteristics of Big Data.
Transforming business processes in order to upgrade decision making to the next level, making use of predictive and prescriptive analytical methods vs. more traditional descriptive ones.
Developing customer-facing Big Data applications that truly impact business performance, in creative and unconventional manners, while keeping end-users reassured about their privacy.
Taking advantage of the new opportunities to interact with external stakeholders to develop innovations.

Firms have the urgent need to quickly build competencies among employees, update decision making processes and renovate their technological infrastructure. By doing so, companies can reach a sustainable architecture of knowledge that leverages Big Data in an efficient and effective manner.
