This workshop aims at envisioning new trends and ideas about theoretical and practical aspects of designing, implementing, and evaluating dependable and secure solutions for the next generation critical networked infrastructures. In particular, the workshop aims at presenting the advancement of the state of art in the fields of distributed systems, hardware and software diagnosis, and software engineering, crucial for improving trustworthiness on ICT facilities, and spreading their adoption in very critical scenarios involving main infrastructures for modern society.
Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to: • Distributed architectures for LCCIs, their components (OTS and legacy), and their requirements; • Middleware architectures for improving dependability attributes of future LCCIs; • Strategies for on-line diagnosis and reconfiguration OTS-based LCCIs; • Methods for dependable and secure ICT platforms used for LCCI; • Tools and techniques for modeling and evaluating LCCIs; • Use cases of Future Critical Networked Systems. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Authors should prepare a Portable Document Format (PDF) version of their full paper. Regular papers must be no longer than 12 pages, following Instruction for LNCS Authors provided by Springer, available at http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs/lncs+authors?SGWID=0-40209-0-0-0. Please submit your paper with the help of the EasyChair conference system: https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=safecomp2012. At least one author of an accepted paper must register at the conference and present the paper at the workshop. PUBLICATION: All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed and the accepted papers will be included in the Springer LNCS joint proceedings of the SAFECOMP conference. A special issue of best papers from this workshop will be published in the International Journal of Critical Computer-Based Systems (IJCCBS). Authors of accepted papers for the workshop would submit significantly extended versions of their workshop papers, which will undergo a separate, rigorous review.
