NASA’s 3rd Annual Conference on Intelligent Data Understanding
In Conjunction with the Applied Information Systems Research Program Principal Investigator (PI) meeting October 14-16th, 2009 Moffett Field, CA https://dashlink.arc.nasa.gov/group/ciduaisrp/ This single track conference will bring together researchers from the systems health, data mining, and science fields for invited talks in the following areas: Autonomous systems and systems health management (autonomy and spaceborne computing) In this topic area presentations will focus on anomaly detection, data driven methods for diagnosis, data fusion, automated planning and control, and other methods with the aim of increasing mission duration, reliability and utility. Speakers in this topic area will include: Ira Cohen Ph.D., HP labs Discovery Algorithms Presentations in this topic area will include data mining, machine learning, statistics-based techniques and others with the goal of maximizing return of useful knowledge from vast data repositories. Speakers in this topic area will include: Sugato Basu Ph.D., Google, and Nitesh Chawla Ph.D., Notre Dame University Data/Information Infrastructure This topic area will include presentations on information architectures, data models and standards, query tools, visualization tools, and other techniques to facilitate the accessibility and interoperability of data and tools in multiple application settings. Speakers in this topic area will include: Eric Colson Ph.D., Netflix and Joe Hellerstein Ph.D., University of California at Berkeley Computational Methods and Frameworks Presentations in this topic area will center on advanced methods and algorithms, collaborative tools and frameworks, and other techniques to enhance multidimensional data analysis, numerical modeling and simulation, and knowledge capture. Keynote Speakers: Marti Hearst Ph.D., University of California at Berkeley Roger Blandford Ph.D., Stanford, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory We encourage researchers and students in these fields to join us to learn about work going on at NASA and beyond and for technical interchange with other researchers. As always, our schedule will allow plenty of time for networking and poster sessions, which has become one of past attendees’ favorite elements of the Conference. Selected outstanding presentations may be invited to submit a paper for publication in the journal Statistical Analysis and Data Mining, An Official Publication of the American Statistical Society. Logistics: Registration for CIDU/AISRP is free, though we will request a nominal fee for food upon arrival. Information about lodging, airports and more can be found on the website. Call for Posters: Due to an overwhelming amount of requests, the organizers of CIDU/AISRP have decided to re-open the poster session. Those who previously submitted will still be notified around September 1. Students and researchers alike are encouraged to submit posters related to the technical areas listed above. Poster abstracts are due by September 15th and selection notification will go out around October 1. More information can be found here: https://dashlink.arc.nasa.gov/group/ciduaisrp/component/abstract-submission/ Organizing Committee: Ashok Srivastava, Ph.D., Joe Bredekamp, Jeff Scargle, Ph.D., Nikunj Oza, Ph.D., Michael Way, Ph.D., Paul Gazis, Ph.D., Ramasubbu Venkatesh, Ph.D. CIDU/AISRP is sponsored by NASA's Integrated Vehicle Health Management Project, Aviation Safety Program and NASA's Applied Information Systems Research Program. |
