Session on "Sustainable Education: Sharing Value for Next Generation Learning" is a part of 6th International KES Conference on Smart Education and e-Learning (KES-SEEL).
SEEL is a major international forum for the presentation of innovative ideas, approaches, technologies, systems, findings and outcomes of research and design and development projects in the emerging areas of smart education, strategies and approaches for smart teaching, learning, and e-learning, applications of smart technology and smart systems in education and e-learning, smart classrooms and smart universities, and knowledge-based smart society. SEEL will provide an excellent opportunity for scholars, Ph.D. students, faculty, administrators, and practitioners to meet well-known experts from all over the world and to discuss innovative ideas, approaches and novelties in smart teaching and learning, advances in smart technology, intelligent systems and state-of-the-art software and hardware systems for education, research findings and outcomes, best practices and case studies, national and international projects, institutional standards and policies, and many other topics related to innovative smart education, smart universities and smart schools. SCOPE Universities around the world have launched ambitious programs aiming to raise academic standards and aim for excellence. However, many of these programs have failed to reach their ambitious goals. Meanwhile, the existing educational systems need to prepare the young generation to meet the demands of the future world and acquire crucial competences for the 21st century, while using limited resources of the educational environment. Sustainable education means finding long-lasting solutions through continuous and life-long education, utilizing and sharing distributed educational resources such as Learning Objects and MOOCs, while no talent gets wasted. The implementation of sustainable education will require substantial effort in reframing of curricula, increasing motivation of teachers and students, and developing technologies for decentralized learning and sharing of knowledge and experience. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: • University as a Service • Networked university • Cloud computing paradigm for smart education • Open access learning • Methodologies for sharing knowledge on demand • Gamification of education • Smart learning objects for global learning • Pedagogical models for decentralized learning • Educational robotics for collaborative learning • Circular learning • Peer-to-peer learning • Blockchain technology for learning • Artificial intelligence frameworks for curricula design • Case studies in sustainable smart education Proceedings The Full Papers conference proceedings will be published by Springer as book chapters in a volume of the KES Smart Innovation Systems and Technologies series, submitted for indexing in Scopus and Clarivate Analytics Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) and the Web of Science.
