Healthcare organisations and protocols are increasingly dependent on IT systems and IoT devices, relying on them to provide patients with a better quality of care or even to offer 24/7 health care across borders, thanks to modern e-health services. This became even more evident due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlights that hospitals need secure, trustable and reliable exchange of health records and diagnosis. Remote care services for ageing population is likewise an increasingly pressing need. Despite the benefits, increasing reliance on healthcare on IT and IoT continues to introduce security threats to the security of health information and patient records. For example, ransomware attacks on hospitals have caused costly damages in the past and may lead to loss of life in the future. This special track of the 34th IEEE International Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems (IEEE CBMS 2021) invites contributions related to the security and resilience of smart health infrastructures that consider smart devices and systems, information security, medical devices security and interconnectivity, as well as usable and cost-effective solutions that promote resilience and fast recovery in case of incidents.
This special track is organized as a collaboration between the ASCLEPIOS and SAFECARE projects. Topics The topics include, but are not limited to: Crypto for health data Health data security Confidential computation on health data Analytics for risk assessment, detection and reaction on cyber and physical security incidents Security of connected medical devices Security of smart IoT for health Use Cases and experience reports in healthcare security Security by design in medical systems Security in health data exchanges Integrity attestation of medical data transactions Cascading effects from combined complex threats Security for cloud-based healthcare systems Combined cyber-physical solutions for health infrastructures protection Security of e-Health services in a connected world |
