6PCM The 6th Podlasie Conference on Mathematics Bialystok, Poland, July 1-4, 2014 http://katmat.pb.bialystok.pl/pcm14 Submission deadlines extended! INVITATION ------------ The Bialystok Branch of the Polish Mathematical Society invites to participate in the 6th Podlasie Conference on Mathematics (6PCM). The Podlasie Conference on Mathematics is a biennial international conference organised by the Bialystok Branch of Polish Mathematical Society in cooperation with Bialystok University of Technology (the Faculty of Computer Science) and the University of Bialystok (the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics). The conference usually spans three and a half days devoted to presentations and discussion. As during earlier PCMs, there will be organised a plenary session and several special sessions. The 6PCM is supported by Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland. IMPORTANT DATES ----------------- - March 30th, 2014: Deadline for special session proposals (Extended) - April 2nd, 2014: Paper submission deadline (Extended) - May 7th, 2014: Notification of paper acceptance (Extended) - May 10th, 2014: Abstract submission deadline for those who submit only abstracts (1-2 pages) - May 15th, 2014: Notification of abstract acceptance - May 28th, 2014: Final versions of papers due (Extended) - May 23rd, 2014: Deadline for early registration and conference fee payment - July 1st, 2014: Conference starts INVITED SPEAKERS ----------------- The plenary talks (accessible to all participants) and invited talks in special sessions will be delivered by the following established scientists (mentioned in alphabetical order): Josef Diblik (Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic), Anna Fino (the University of Torino, Italy), Hans Havlicek (Vienna University of Technology, Austria), Ulrich Kraehmer (the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK), Krystyna Kuperberg (Auburn University, AL, USA), Daniel Franco Leis (Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia (UNED), Spain), Bent Orsted (Aarhus University, Denmark), Priti Kumar Roy (Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India), Andrzej Skowron (the University of Warsaw, Poland), Andrzej Szalas (the University of Warsaw, Poland), Marek Szopa (the University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland). SPECIAL SESSIONS ------------------ Special sessions will be organised in two categories: (1) planned special sessions: - Algebra (organised by Ryszard Mazurek) - Control Theory and Dynamical Systems (organised by Zbigniew Bartosiewicz) - Computer Science (organised by Magdalena Kacprzak) - Computer-assisted Formalization of Mathematics -- In memoriam of Andrzej Trybulec (organised by Artur Kornilowicz) - Differential Operators: Algebra, Geometry, and Representations (organised by Antoni Pierzchalski) - Difference and Differential Equations and Their Generalisation on any Time Scales (organised by Ewa Schmeidel and Josef Diblik) - Mathematics in Biology and Medicine (organised by Anna Poskrobko) - Quantitative Methods in Economics (organised by Beata Madras-Kobus) - Weak Partial Linear and Partial Chain Spaces and Their Geometry (organised by Krzysztof Prazmowski) (2) contributed special sessions. PAPER SUBMISSION INFORMATION ------------------------------ Participants are invited to deliver a contributed talk (in English) and to take part in one or more special sessions. Participation of younger researchers is also encouraged. Two categories of submissions are proposed: (a) regular papers/extended abstracts, not exceeding 12 pages and (b) abstracts (1-2 pages). Submissions of type (a) are optional, whereas submissions of type (b) are obligatory for those who would like to give a talk at the conference. Papers of kind (a) must not be published or considered for publication anywhere else. Both kinds of contributions should be submitted using EasyChair available at: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=6pcm Final versions of invited papers and accepted contributed papers/extended abstracts will be published as chapters of an electronic multi-author edited book with an ISBN number, provided to the participants during the conference. Abstracts of invited and accepted contributed talks will be published electronically and in a traditional (paper) book of abstracts. After the conference, authors of selected contributions will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers to scientific journals. CONFERENCE VENUE ----------------- The 6PCM will take place in Bialystok (the capital of the Podlasie province which, besides unspoiled nature, offers rich culture with ethnic and religious diversity) in the building of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Bialystok. PARTICIPATION AND REGISTRATION -------------------------------- The conference registration, followed by the conference fee payment, will entitle to participation in plenary lectures and parallel special sessions, coffee breaks and lunches, the multi-author edited book, the book of abstracts, the conference dinner, and an excursion. The 6PCM registration fees: - Regular registration: 650 PLN (VAT 23\% included) if paid before or on May 23rd, 2014. - Late registration: 750 PLN (VAT 23\% included) if paid after May 23rd, 2014 but not later than on July 1st, 2014. In order to include an accepted contributed talk in the conference programme and an accepted submitted paper/abstract in the multi-author edited book/the book of abstracts, at least one (co)author of the submission must register and pay the conference fee, attend the conference, and present the paper. Student participants of Student Session are asked to register to the conference but they are exempted from the conference fee payment.
