Call For Papers

Call for Papers and Poster Abstracts CMSB 2014
12th Int. Conference on Computational Methods in Systems Biology
November 17-19, 2014 , University of Manchester, Manchester, UK
http://www.comp-sys-bio.org/CMSB14
================================================================

CMSB 2014 solicits original research articles and poster
abstracts on the analysis of biological systems, networks, and
data. The conference brings together computer scientists,
biologists, mathematicians, engineers, and physicists interested
in a system-level understanding of biological processes.

Papers and poster abstracts should be submitted to one of the
following categories:

- formalisms for modelling biological processes,
- models together with their biological applications,
- frameworks for model verification, validation, and analyis of
biological systems,
- high-performance computational systems biology and parallel
implementations,
- model inference from experimental data,
- model integration from biological databases,
- multi-scale modelling and analysis methods,
- computational approaches for synthetic biology.

Case studies in systems and synthetic biology are especially
encouraged.

Paper submission deadline: 1st June, 2014.
Poster abstract submission deadline: 15th August, 2014.

Submitted papers should describe original work that has not been
previously published and is not under review for publication
elsewhere. Papers must be edited in LaTeX using the LNCS format
and be submitted electronically as PDF files via EasyChair. The
limit for submissions is 12 pages. Appendices will not not be
counted in the page limit.

Poster abstracts should be written in LaTeX as a 2-page document
using the LNCS format and be submitted electronically as PDF
files via EasyChair. Selected posters will also be given short
talk slots at the conference.

There will be a cash prize of $500 USD for the Best Student
Paper. The criteria for a Student paper are that the leading
(corresponding) author should be registered in a Masters or PhD
program, the contributions and percentages of effort by all
authors should be clearly stated in an appendix, and the paper
should be submitted with the keyword 'student paper' at
Easychair. The cash prize is donated by TCSIM - the IEEE
Technical Committee on Simulation.

Proceedings will be published. We are currently negotiating
terms with Springer LNCS/LNBI.

After the conference, a selection of papers will be invited to
be extended and submitted to a special issue of a journal.

VENUE
The Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) is a
purpose-built interdisciplinary research institute, and home to
a unique multi- and inter-disciplinary community of researchers
trained in physics, chemistry, mathematics, computation,
engineering and biology committed to working across discipline
boundaries.

The MIB is in Manchester City Centre, 5 minutes walk from
Manchester Picaddilly train station. Manchester airport is the
2nd largest in the UK and has direct flights from over 190
locations.
