The XIX Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision - STSIVA 2014 will be held from September 17 to 19, 2014 in the Metropolitan Cultural and Convention Center at Armenia-Quindio-Colombia. This event is organized by the Universidad del Quindío and sponsored by the Colombian IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapter.

Armenia City is the capital of the department of Quindio. It is located in the Colombian region known as the coffee triangle. Since 2011, this region is recognized by the UNESCO as a world cultural heritage due to its exceptional landscapes that are the mixture of natural beautifulness and cultural traditions around the coffee growing. The department of Quindio is also the home of the Colombian national tree, the Quindio’s wax palm, a unique palm that grows in the Cocora valley. Different theme parks related to cultural and agricultural traditions are also located in the department of Quindio, which turns out STSIVA 2014 an opportunity not only for academic exchange but also for knowing and enjoying the traditions around the coffee growing.

Over two decades, STSIVA has been the most important Colombian gathering of students, professors and researchers related to signal processing (speech, audio, video, biomedical signals, etc.), image processing, and computer vision, which include but are not limited to Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Physics, among others.

All students, professors and researchers in related subjects are invited to submit their proposals to share experiences and work on theoretical and practical issues on signal processing, image processing and artificial vision.
