Call for Posters
We welcome posters corresponding to the conference theme & topics. Posters should be prepared in A0 format, meaning a maximum width of 841 mm/33.11 inches and a maximum height of 1189 mm/46.81 inches. We advice you to prepare a poster in portrait format (i.e. “standing up”). Landscape format is accepted, but since the maximum width is 841 mm/33.11 inches this will leave you less space to use. In other words, you are not allowed to just flip the A0 over 90 degrees. There are no requirements on fonts, font sizes, logos or other matters concerning the layout. However, making a successful poster takes some skills. In contrast to a paper, a poster is to present your research through visual elements such as diagrams, figures, flow charts, tables etc. rather than in text. Keep the text to a minimum. “Bullet points” are better than sentences. Also make sure that you use a font size that will make it readable at some distance. Here’s one suggestion to point to you in the right direction: Title: 85pt Authors: 56pt Sub-headings: 36pt Body text: 24pt Captions: 18pt For more useful advice, a good and concrete guide on poster design is provided here: http://www.makesigns.com/tutorials/ Deadline for Poster abstract: 5 May 2014. (The abstract should consists of 400-800 words and be submitted using EasyChair, https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ict4s2014.) Acceptance notification: 11 May 2014. Accepted posters should be brought to the conference printed. There will be no possibilities of printing posters at site. We will provide you with a board and pins. |
