COLING 2014 – First AHA! Workshop on Information Discovery in Text (AHA!-Workshop)

August 23, 2014, Dublin, Ireland

www.aha-workshop.de

Recent years have seen an increased interest in moving beyond the limitations of traditional Information Extraction (IE) to allow for the discovery and extraction of structured information in text collections of unknown content and arbitrary domains. Such Information Discovery (ID) approaches are not bound by a pre-specified schema of information, but rather discover relational or categorial structure automatically from given unstructured data.

The intent of this workshop is to bring together leading researches in the emerging field of Information Discovery in Text to discuss current approaches, their potential and limitations, as well as visions for future directions.

Topics of interest:

Topic of interest include, but are not limited to:

* Information Extraction (IE) across arbitrary domains
* Information Discovery (ID) in text corpora of unknown content
* Minimally supervised or unsupervised approaches in IE and ID
* Methods for the evaluation of Information Discovery
* Applications and demonstrations of Information Discovery
* Scalability of computational methods for IE and ID
* Benchmarking for IE and ID
* Visions for future directions in IE and ID

We invite submissions of papers on ongoing and exciting preliminary in these topics, as well as visionary paper submissions. All accepted papers will be presented as posters. Additionally, the top papers as determined by the PC will also be presented in an oral session.

Important Dates:

8th June 2014 — Paper Submission Deadline:

1st July 2014 —Author Notification Deadline

13th July 2014 — Camera-ready papers

23th August 2014 — AHA!-Workshop
