Call For Papers

The Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance invites article submissions for the next issue of Liaison, CFE-DM’s journal of civil-military disaster management and humanitarian relief collaborations.

The theme for the Spring 2018 issue is the Evolution of HADR Working Groups in the Pacific.

In recent years, the need for greater engagement and enhanced coordination between civilian and military personnel engaged in disaster management in the Asia-Pacific region has become evident. Multinational working groups like the ADMM-Plus Expert Working Group on HADR and the Regional Consultative Group on Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination for Asia and the Pacific are bringing the relevant players together to build coordination mechanisms, improve information sharing and improve other critical areas in disaster response. This issue will focus on recent gains made through these working groups and discuss perspectives and the road ahead.

CFE-DM invites original submissions from contributors of all backgrounds within the DMHA community that have supported collaborations in assessments, lessons learned, technology, science and applied research, and training and education within the regional cooperation theme.

Abstracts are due January 15, 2018

First drafts are due February 15, 2018.

Liaison is a journal of civil-military disaster management and humanitarian relief collaborations and aims to engage and inform readers on the most current research, collaborations and lessons learned available.

We prefer original submissions, but if your article or paper is being considered for publication elsewhere, please note that with the submission.

Please direct submissions or questions to the editor at cfe.dmha.fct@pacom.mil
