Call For Papers | |||||||||||
After forty years of talking about sex, we are inviting abstracts for spoken and poster presentations on the latest research into sexual health.
Spoken Presentations Spoken presentations should last 45 minutes, allowing time for an additional 10 minutes for questions. All speakers will be expected to produce a PDF summary of their presentation in advance, which will be made available to conference attendees on the day. Research submitted must be current, original work and can be quantitative or qualitative, but must have results available for presentation. We will also consider a small number of topics to be presented for discussion at the end of the day. These should form an evaluation of available evidence to support an opinion. For example titles that might be considered are: Will HIV infection rates in gay men fall over the next decade? What are the appropriate safer sex messages for Trans communities? Are there suitable services available to address the sexual health needs in older LGBT populations? Poster Presentations All speakers will be expected to produce a PDF summary of their presentation in advance, which will be made available to conference attendees on the day. Research submitted must be current, original work and can be quantitative or qualitative, but must have results available for presentation. Submission Guidelines 1. Abstracts must be limited to a single paragraph and should not be longer than 800 words (not including title, authors’ names and affiliations, references and keywords). 2. Please submit in Microsoft Word document format (.doc or .docx). 3. Abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself. 4. The presenter should be indicated and should provide an e-mail address. 5. Two copies of the abstracts should be provided - one including authors’ names and affiliations, and the other with these details omitted. Abstract Structure a) Title: should be concise and informative. b) All authors’ names and affiliations: include the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. c) Background: including the main research question. d) Methodology/Principal Findings: include here the techniques used, together with a summary of the most important findings with key results given. e) Conclusions: concisely summarise the study’s implications. f) Keywords (max. 6): use UK English spelling. Use only abbreviations firmly established in the field (e.g. HIV). Deadline All abstracts must be submitted to admin@llgs.org.uk by 25th July 2014 (noon). |
