Art et Nouvelles Technologies (Art and Emerging Technologies) #1
Call for proposals: The Poetics of Data Editors: Mathilde Chénin, Florent Di Bartolo, Pierre Vialle Advisers: Jeff Guess, Julie Morel, Julien Prévieux First issue edited by Mathilde Chénin and Florent Di Bartolo Publication in Spring 2015 ANT is a new critical French-speaking journal dedicated to explore the link between art, science and emerging technologies. The journal will publish papers from academic researchers, artists and art critics. By translating papers from foreign authors in French, the review will try to give an access to the debate for French non-English speaking persons. For its first issue, titled Poétique des données (The Poetics of Data), the journal will publish papers analyzing artistic works wich: - Are using algorithms to treat, to classify and to give access to data; - Are collections of objects, or basis of knowledges; - Hire their public in an act of collective creation; - Are visualization of data (texts, images, or sounds). Papers (25 000 signs maximum) could also talk about visualization of data in the field of art, history of visualization, its specificity and its relationship with other disciplines. Proposals for papers (500 words maximum, in English or French) should be sent before July 28, 2014 to the following address: revueant@gmail.com. They will include data allowing the exact identification of the author: full name, institutional affiliation and function, institutional address, e-mail. The reception of every proposal will be confirmed. Each proposal for paper sent within the time frame will be examined. The comity will select the proposals and will give its answer at the latest on November 1st, 2014. The complete article (in English or French) must be sent by e-mail at the latest on February 28, 2015. |
