The Journal of Turkish Literature (JTL), which is published annually by the Center for Turkish Literature at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, is the first and only literary scholarly journal in English devoted in its entirety to Turkish Literature from all periods.
For its upcoming issue, JTL is seeking articles in English both on Turkish literature from any period (from its beginnings to the present day) and the poetry and translations of James Clarence Mangan related to Ottoman society and culture. Articles must be between 3000-6000 words (longer articles may be submitted with prior permission). In order to get an idea of the sort of articles corresponding to the mission of the journal, please review the tables of contents of the first through 10 issues: http://edeb.bilkent.edu.tr/jtl/english.html Interested authors are invited to submit a 250- to 300-word abstract of their planned article, along with a 150-word autobiographical note. The abstract and autobiographical note should be submitted no later than Monday, 4 August 2014. Authors of the planned articles will be notified of acceptance by Monday, 11 August 2014. Final versions of articles accepted for inclusion must be submitted no later than Tuesday, 14 October 2014.
