The Arkansas Philological Association invites papers for its forty-first annual conference—“For the Love of Language: Philology, Form, and Craft in the Language Arts.” The conference will be held October 23-25 at the Little Rock Convention Center and the Arkansas Studies Institute, A Department of the Central Arkansas Library System.
Papers exploring the role and relevance of philology, form, and craft in the language arts are particularly encouraged, though papers on related or alternative critical, creative, or pedagogical approaches to language, literature, creative writing, and rhetorical analysis are welcome. Creative works of short fiction and poetry are encouraged and should be submitted as an attachment with a brief author’s statement in lieu of an abstract.
All papers and presentations should be no more than 20 minutes in length, and abstracts or author’s statements of no more than 100 words should be sent to Dr. Jeremy Ecke at APAconference@outlook.com. All submissions should include your full name, rank, institutional affiliation, home or institutional address, and preferred e-mail. Please also indicate whether you will need technology and if you are interested in moderating a session. The deadline for abstract submissions is October 6th, 2014. Acceptance notices will be sent by e-mail with travel and hotel information.
